they are teaching. when you have a tragedy as bad as connecticut, the teachers on top of the parents have also lost a child. i had two teachers in elementary schools. the security there is as much as the security is going to get in the school. when you look at schools and said, this is the safest place to be. for it to happen in an elementary school, the first school you enter as a child, that is devastating. when you see the parents crying and upset, you have to rush back to your child's school because there has been this devastating event happened. host: you are an educator in baltimore and we are showing the front page of "the baltimore sun." talk to us about the security of your school. what does a person have to do to get into the school during the school day? caller: you have to be bused in, you go to the office to get a pass. the office personnel are not equipped to handle a gunman coming through the door. even if you take the precaution of having the doors locked and going through the office first, there is no security in the office. there is no security guard. you just sign in and say what

attorney in connecticut. today, noelle alba was arrested, charged with lying to federal agents who were investigating her for fraudulent fund-raising activity. here you see her leaving court in hartford, connecticut. she was released on $50,000 bond. if she is convicted, she could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. the fbi's criminal complaint refers to the reporting we did last week, saying quote, on or about december 19th, 2012, cnn's anderson cooper 360 program broadcast a story regarding charity scams and the sandy hook tragedy. alba was a subject of the program and allowed the cnn crew to record her audio voice in response to questions about her involvement with charities to help sandy hook victims. alba claimed that the paypal account listed in the request for donations was not hers, only that she had an account like that. alba claimed she never set up any funds for anybody. the journalist reported that alba claimed she immediately refunded all of the donations she received. she claimed other members in the scrapbooking community within which she interacted on fa

, connecticut. what are your thoughts about this tragedy? >> you know, "time" magazine's calling it the massacre of innocence and that actually is a phrase from the first christmas, where herod killed baby boys under 2, at christmas time and, it is very tragic, that this is happening at christmas time. i think with the two sandies, sandy hook and sandy hurricane we really need the christmas spirit right now. the deeper the pain, the deeper the grief, the fewer the words. there are long term things we need to deal with to prevent it from happening again but now, we need to console those who are grieving. as a pastor i deal with grief every day of my life and i discovered it is a good thing, the way we make transitions in the losses of life. jesus said, blessed are those who mourn, they shall be comforted and if we stuff our grief, i figured out it comes outside ways later on in strange ways and so, part of the healing process is actually dealing with the grief, and, the way we help people in grief, it is to just be with them. you don't have to say anything, you don't need anything profound, you d

bushmaster, the same used in the elementary school massacre in newtown, connecticut. investigators continue to comb through what's left of this webster home. the scene of an ambush attack set by this man, william spengler, that killed two firefighters and injured two others. overnight, news that a body has been found in the rubble of the spengler home, possibly his sister, cheryl spengler, who neighbors say he had a strained relationship. emotions are high, as fellow firefighters face the grim reality of burying their own. >> intended to burn his neighborhood down and tried to put down as many people as possible before stopping. >> reporter: police say spengler fired from a nearby berm or hill, as if he were a military sniper, using a tree as cover. >> spengler had armed himself heavily and immediately started firing upon first responders. essentially, it was a combat mission. >> reporter: he killed firefighters tomasz kaczowka and lieutenant michael chiapperini. before shooting himself, and at his side, a rambling note. >> i need to see how much of a neighborhood i can burn down. and do wh

across connecticut, rhode island, boston. we could see maybe one, maybe even two inches of rain, snow continues with cold air coming around. we are still watching more snow and then we get the great lakes involved and as well. dumping more snow in western new york. and by that time, new york city, you might see a few flurries. the worst of it is gone for you except the wind but now northern new england, parts of it, maine corks see a foot plus the snow coming through there. all of this, rain, the wind and snow, that will impact travel. as we head lou tonight some of the worst airports this evening will be around d.c. and as well as philadelphia and new york, numerous delays. hundreds of cancelations of pilots and usually -- about a would-hour delay is average around the new york city airports tonight. and even with the snow back on towards the west. now tomorrow, new york city is -- improving throughout the afternoon but morning pilots cog still be delayed and big-time delays continue there in boston and again, things will improve as we head towards friday and then we wait for a next
